About Us
A concept between friends, Furry UK was devised following Merlin’s own personal experience becoming more involved with the furry fandom in 2024. Though finding the fandom many years before and collecting numerous furry products including a number of pre made suits, between the commitments of daily life, personal mindset and the accessibility of information, Merlin did not actually attend any fur meets or conventions until 2024 and having found this experience to be a leap from the comforts of the norm, his experience drove him to exploring ways to make the fandom more accessible and approachable to others in similar situations.
From a chance encounter when commissioning his first custom fur suit, Merlin happened upon NachtKrallen and Adam, a couple of furs living locally to him who had been more active in the furry fandom in the UK for over a decade prior. Sharing their knowledge and experiences and extending their friendship, the three friends devised the concept of Furry UK. A Furry business to help those finding the fandom and those interested in taking a more active participation in the community greater acumen and access in a more comfortable and supported setting where needed. To help furs of any and all expertise to experience more and better engagement and helping to make furry more fun for everyone.
At Furry UK, we believe everyone should be able to enjoy the fandom for the experiences it can offer. These can be anything from the welcomed escapes from some of life’s harsh realities to rewarding networking opportunities, the fulfilment of helping others, developing your own social and supportive skills, knowledge and expertise and even supporting charities with more than just a financial donation!
We know furry can be an amazing, entertaining and enriching experience and we want everyone interested in this wonderful community to be able to feel comfortable and confident they can access all the positives and freedom of expression it has to offer!
Our Founders
NachtKrallen
NachtKrallen is a black and grey wolf furry from the UK. With a German inspired name. Nacht’s name is based on German language for Night (Nacht, pronounced more n-ac-t) and Claws (Krallen pronounced kral-en)
Nacht found the fandom back in 2006/7 when he made new friends who introduced him and found “it just made sense”.
Initially engaging with friends online, he commonly used sites such as Furnation and Furaffinity and then finally commissioned his first artwork around 2011 before also commissioning his fur suit in 2012.
Attending his first fur meet in Manchester in April 2012, the following month he also attended his first ever furry convention, ConFuzzled in the UK. Hooked by the fandom with the new friends and freedom it gave him, Nacht volunteered with ConFuzzled, working with their medical team and then progressing to become an associate director of the convention from 2017.
Nacht has made many friends and helpful contacts in his time in the fandom, networking with a wide variety of folks world wide, attending conventions in the UK and in the USA. He loves making new friends and helping folks wherever he can and is excited to be working with his partner Adam and business partner Merlin here at Furry UK!
Merlin / Mr Sheppy
Merlin, also affectionately known as Mister Sheppy is a tri colour German shepherd furry from the the UK.
Merlin found the fandom many years ago and invested in a number of fur suits and furry merchandise he sourced online but never actually acted on his interest until many years later.
Initially afraid of mascot costumes and the concept of dressing and acting as a mascot, he conquered his fear when he eventually gained the courage to engage with some of the mascots at Disney world and from that moment, he was hooked!
In 2024 he finally chose to commission his first fur suit and also attended his first furry convention Megaplex in Florida in the USA (Though he attended this without his suit, leaving him at home).
He also gained the courage to attend Manchester’s fur meet after meeting his new found friends Adam and Nacht and was encouraged to attend further conventions including ConFuzzled in the UK and the following Megaplex and Midwest Furfest conventions in 2025.
From his experiences accessing the fandom, meets, making new friends and visiting new places, Merlin was inspired to offer the same support he received to others making their debut in the fandom, and thus the concept of Furry UK was born!
Merlin has made lots of friends and helpful contacts all over the world in the fandom. He specialises in IT and being a keen business owner, he has encouraged the formation of Furry UK and has been the driving force and influence in the companies creation. He loves making new friends, helping folks wherever he can and absolutely loves being a big fuzzy dog whenever he can and he too is excited to be working with his business partners Adam and Nacht here at Furry UK!
Adam Curly
Adam Curly is a blue and white husky furry from the the UK.
Adam found the fandom after watching a television program featuring some furs from the UK, capturing his attention with its opportunity for creativity and friendly networking.
Initially engaging with friends online, he started visiting fur meets in Manchester and then finally commissioned his first fur suit in 2013.
Attending Manchester’s fur meets through 2012 as well as other meets including Leeds, York and Lincoln, Adam found his partner Nacht and they’ve been together ever since. In 2014 he also attended his first ever furry convention, ConFuzzled in the UK and also becoming hooked by the fandom with the new friends and freedom it gave him with his new found partner, Adam also volunteered with ConFuzzled, working with their medical team and then helping run the mascot department for the convention from 2023.
Adam has made many friends and helpful contacts in his time in the fandom, also networking with a wide variety of folks world wide, attending conventions in the UK and in the USA. He loves making new friends and helping folks where he can but absolutely adores being the big blue and white fuzz ball when he can and he too is excited to be working with his partner Nacht and business partner Merlin here at Furry UK!
